Does it feel like you’ve tried everything to break free from your past and nothing has worked?

You’re frustrated that you’ve spent more hours in therapy than you can count and still haven’t found what you were looking for. Maybe you feel like you’ve talked through every angle of your past but just can’t move forward from it and you find yourself...

  • Mentally checking out at work or with your loved ones and not able to live fully in the present moment

  • Terrified of being left or abandoned by your partner, constantly thinking about ways to to protect yourself and keep everyone at an arm's length so you won’t get hurt (again)

  • Waking up from terrible dreams about the past and knowing it was “just a dream” but it still throws off the rest of your day

  • Aware of why you suddenly snap at your kids or your partner over something seemingly innocent but just can’t get in control of it

  • Unsure of when the last time you felt truly relaxed was because some part of you is always on edge, waiting for the next bad thing to happen

  • Feeling like you’ll never be “normal” and wondering why you can’t “get it together” like other people can

If this sounds like you, you’re in the right place.

How I can help

I specialize in therapy for lasting change.

Methods

Hannah Loftus, EMDR therapist in Denver

HI, I’m hannah.

I believe that when you get to the root of your trauma, you can find true healing and finally leave the past in the past.

I am passionate about working with clients who are frustrated about how their trauma or past experiences continue to impact their lives, even after trying other types of therapy.

My clients walk away from therapy with me feeling like they can finally rest in the present moment, breathe deeper, release old patterns, and feel in control when reminders of their trauma come up.

I specialize in working with curious, motivated adults who have experienced trauma or religious trauma who are looking to go beyond traditional talk therapy using EMDR and somatic therapy so they can stop living in the past, connect with themselves in the present, and find long-lasting results so they can create a future they’re excited about.

Together, we will get to the root of your symptoms and help you find lasting change.

You can get to the root of your trauma.

Go from…

  • Checking out mentally or dissociating when hard things come up

  • Lashing out or reacting at your kids or partner for seemingly small things

  • Fearing you’ll repeat old patterns with your kids, partner, or other important relationships

  • Feeling like your trauma or past impacts most aspects of your life every day

to…

  • Staying present and taking care of yourself in hard moments

  • Being able to manage your triggers and communicate about them to people you love

  • Knowing how to create new patterns in your relationships and actually stick with them

  • Being able to move forward in life and let go of your trauma, once and for all

What if I'm not sure if I’ve experienced trauma?

Maybe you…

Feel afraid of what acknowledging trauma in your past will mean for you

Compare yourself to others and tell yourself what you experienced "wasn't that bad"

Don’t remember much of your childhood, but you just feel like something was "off" or "not quite right"

If you’re not sure whether you’ve experienced trauma but feel curious and motivated to work through difficult experiences in your past, I'm here for you too. And I want you to know - it's okay to not be sure about labeling your past.

There’s no measuring stick for the pain you’ve experienced.
