Have you tried talk therapy and still feel like you’re stuck in the past?
Maybe you’ve been to therapy before, but you still can’t break out of your old cycles and patterns. You may be feeling desperate to make changes but not sure what else to try. At this point, you’re burnt out on trying to heal and afraid nothing will ever help you feel “normal.”
maybe you are…
Frustrated that therapy hasn’t brought the results you were looking for
Overwhelmed by reminders of your trauma at every turn
Determined that something needs to change because you just can’t keep going on like this
Disconnected from life, your relationships, and things that you think should spark joy but leave you feeling empty
Or maybe you are overwhelmed by limiting beliefs about yourself, such as:
“I’m not worthy.”
“I’m not enough.”
“I’m not lovable.”
“I’m not safe.”
It doesn’t have to stay like this. EMDR can help.

EMDR can help you find relief from the past and negative beliefs you hold about yourself.
EMDR is an evidence-based method that can help bring your brain and body into the present moment, and allow you to find relief and let go of the past.
-
EMDR works with your brain's natural processing system. You don't have to talk through what happened to you in detail, and you'll be working towards the root of your symptoms rather than putting a bandaid on them.
If our memory systems were a book, traumatic memories would be like loose pages flying in the wind. EMDR helps to glue those pages into our brain, so you can stay calm when you are reminded of that old story in the future.
-
After we determine what events and beliefs you’d like to process using EMDR, you’ll bring those memories up at the same time you are receiving bilateral stimulation - usually eye movements, tapping, or sounds. This replicates what happens during REM sleep and will help you re-organize the trauma in your brain, which can bring relief from many distress.
We’ll also process how these events and beliefs are showing up for you today, and how you imagine they’ll impact you in the future. That way, when triggers come up, your trauma no longer has a hold on your past, present, or future.
-
EMDR helps you reprocess disturbing memories so that you don’t become so distressed when you are reminded of them. It can relieve symptoms like nightmares, flashbacks, and feeling like you have to be hyper-alert all the time, allowing you to relax and begin to rest in the present.
While every trauma is different, many clients find that EMDR can bring relief fairly quickly (as little as 6-12 sessions) because it stimulates our brain’s natural healing capabilities. It also helps us replace limiting beliefs about ourselves such as “I’m not worthy” with more adaptive beliefs.

Throughout EMDR sessions, I’ll work with you to process difficult memories we’ve identified, helping to untangle negative beliefs associated with them and integrate more positive perspectives. As the session progresses, you might find that the distress associated with the memories lessens, and you may gain insights or new understandings about yourself and your experiences.
After the session, it's common to feel tired or emotionally drained, as the process can be intense. However, many people also report feeling a sense of relief or lightness afterward.
Overall, while EMDR can be challenging at times, it's often a transformative and empowering experience that can lead to significant healing and growth.

EMDR stimulates what our bodies naturally do when in REM sleep, allowing us to process trauma faster and more effectively. Since trauma occurs in deeper levels of our brain than our “talking” brain, we can’t simply talk our way through healing trauma - we have to get onto trauma’s level to really feel better.
